DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
The Quirky Cooking for Gut Health Program is a cooking program designed to help you learn to cook delicious, healing food for your family. The recipes and meals plans are suitable for the 6 stages of the GAPS Introduction diet.
Eligibility & Practitioner Support
This program is suitable for any age over 1 year old, except for pregnant mothers who are recommended to stay on the Full GAPS diet rather than the GAPS Introduction diet (which this program is based on). See this outline of the GAPS diet for details of what Intro and Full GAPS includes.
For babies under 1 year old, solids should be introduced as per the GAPS baby section in the book, “Gut and Psychology Syndrome” by Dr Natasha Campbell McBride.
If you want to start GAPS while breastfeeding, it is recommended to begin at Stage 2. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should always check with their health professional before changing their diet.
The GAPS diet should be modified according to your specific needs, which is why we strongly advise you to consult with a GAPS practitioner who has themselves worked through the GAPS protocol. If you have conditions that call for extra support, you may need supplements or dietary modifications, and a practitioner is best able to help you with this.
Conditions needing extra support would include but are not limited to gall bladder issues (or absence of a gall bladder), recovering from cancer, autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, thyroid/adrenal issues, anaphylaxis, genetic mutations (or suspected), pregnancy and breastfeeding, or just if you’re unsure – an appointment or two never goes astray! If you have severe health issues, have had major surgery, or have organs removed or transplanted, please consult with a medical practitioner before commencing this program.

Cost and what it includes
The Quirky Cooking for Gut Health program costs $199 and this gives you lifetime membership. There are no extra costs and all parts of the program are available to you from the moment of purchase.
The program is made up of 4 modules:
- Module 1: Getting Started (20 min video, audio, transcript, downloadable fact sheets & resources lists, bonus ebooks)
- Module 2: In My Kitchen (7 lessons, each with a video, audio, transcript, downloadable fact sheets)
- Module 3: Cooking the Basics (13 lessons, each with a video, audio, transcript, downloadable recipe cards)
- Module 4: Recipes for Gut Health (6 videos to help you get ready for each stage, 6 weeks of meal plans, 6 recipe ebooks* with over 150 recipes, each with a photo, and downloadable fact sheets & resources)
Also included: Access to our private Facebook support group with access to Jo and her program advisors. Program members can connect with one another in this supportive forum, and offer tips and support for cooking healthy, delicious food for their families. Live video chats and ‘how to’ videos with Jo are scheduled periodically within the group.
